Ron Scott is the Senior Pastor of Tabernacle of Praise Church. Ron had a call to preach as a young adult and was ordained under the ministry of Jerry Haynes of New Life Temple Church, Hollister, Missouri. Ron and his wife, Barbara, have been married for 50 years. They have two children, five grandchildren, and helped to raise several foster children. They moved to Halls, Tn. in order to take the Senior Pastor position at the Lighthouse Church. Ron, Barb, and the children filled that call for many years until God moved him on to work with Harold Blackwood as Asst. Pastor. Ron then stepped back into the role of Senior Pastor and started the church, Tabernacle of Praise in Halls. Ron also heads up a Prison ministry, Nursing home ministry, Commission on Aging ministry, Visitation ministry, and is a part of the worship team.
Bobby Jacobs is the Asst. Pastor of Tabernacle of Praise Church. He felt the call of the Lord in 1997 and married his wife, Deborah, later that same year. Bobby was in business for 3 years until he sold that business in order to attend Bible College in Westerly, RI. He and Deborah both graduated with an Associate's Degree in Ministry & in Biblical studies. God sent them back to Halls, TN. in 2001, where they were once again in business for several years and where Bobby was ordained in 2016 under the ministry of Ron Scott, Pastor, Tabernacle of Praise Church. Bobby has traveled on mission trips to Peru, and the Navajo Nation. He teaches Sunday school and Wednesday night Bible study, as well as having a Jail Ministry. He is also part of the worship team and the media team.
David Lee Oglesby Jr. Was born in 1975 in Memphis, TN and lived most of his life as an atheist. He saw God move in his wife Monica and through her walk, he accepted the Lord as his Savior and accepted his will over his own. He has been blessed with 3 wonderful children and watched his youngest son, Noah, at the age of 16 be ordained by Pastor Ron Scott and accepted the role as servant of the Lord. David also ministers to the McDowell center in Dyersburg, TN, cooks for the Mens Breakfast Ministry and helps in Media. He also works with the S.I.C. Skit Ministry within the Church and states his calling is to serve God in whatever is needed and always reach out to the lost, go wherever God leads him and to go where no one else will to reach the lost.
The Media Team is a group of members that organize media output for the church services, skits and more. From organizing media to be projected onto the displays on each side of the stage for the congregation to making sure the sound and live stream are running efficiently, our Media Team works hard to ensure your experience at Tabernacle of Praise is not only welcoming but pleasant as well.
